Here comes Thanksgiving.
- Turkey (cooked by Bill Miller BBQ, reheated by me)
- Mashed potatoes (Yukon golds, natch)
- Stuffing
- Cranberry relish
- Broccoli with cheese sauce
- Parker House rolls
- Pumpkin Pie & ice cream for dessert
A modest spread by some standards but since it's only the three of us this year at the ranch, the turkey and three different carb options will simply have to do. We've done most of the shopping and I plan to actually make the pumpkin pie for Christina myself despite my aversion to all things pumpkin. It seems simple enough.
I will wait to write about the things I'm grateful for this year until the actual day.
We continue to make the new duplex habitable, today focusing on the laundry room -- installing shelves and bins and whatnot to allow us to unpack the boxes in the rest of the house and then squirrel the belongings away out of sight until we need them. It's starting to take shape; I believe we will have an actual dining room table for Thanksgiving and by Christmas the boxes should be 80 - 90% unpacked. I hope.
To refresh my memory, I went back and looked at some entries from when we moved into the apartment at High Oaks. Apparently it took us something like 5 or 6 months to unpack that place, though I was living in St. Pete for two of those.
