Quiet Day at the Bowling Alley
When we go to the bowling alley during lunch, there's the usual cacophony of balls and pins. This week, though, Bryan and I arrived to find it eerily quiet. It seems that the senior citizens' league which normally meets at that time was holding its end-of-season awards lunch and so no one was actually bowling. Some old duffer was monopolizing a microphone and there was some scattered applause for the winner of each category ("Best Scratch Game?"), but the only people doing any actual bowling were the two of us. As Bryan so eloquently put it: "You know something's up when you can hear the conveyer belt on the ball return start up."
I bowled two completely crappy games and Bryan broke 100 both times. Someday I'm gonna take me some bowling lessons.
