My poor monitor
The beautiful 17" monitor that came with my Mac is dying. It keeps making snap-crackle-pop noises and the image "pops" larger and smaller to go along with the sound effects. This happens once every 10-15 minutes and it breaks my heart. These monitors are attractive both in the display (nice bright flat screens) and in design, with their tripod stands and curved bezels. Mine has been a champ, working tirelessly for the last 4+ years (when did the lease on this sucker start?).
Normally I would just replace the darn thing, but I think I'll check out what the repair cost will be, because I know that no replacement will make me quite as happy as this monitor – unless, of course, it were the equivalent LCD display. I don't see myself shelling out $600 for that just at this moment, though.
