Vanilla Coke, Star Wars, and That 80's Station
Picked up some Vanilla Coke at the gas station this morning. Don't bother. The appeal of vanilla extract added to Coke is that it sweetens it and cuts down on the acidity. The prefabricated stuff is just vanilla-flavored Coca-Cola, if you see the difference. The soda is still just as harsh, but with a cloying vanilla aftertaste.
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones was excellent, thanks. Some people need to learn that Jedi speak in near-platitudes. It's just the way they are. Get past that and you'll enjoy the film more. Plus, there's nothing like seeing a Muppet kick ass.
I'm officially annoyed with the local '80s station. It was cool at first, but with a decade of tunes to choose from, they keep playing the same forty or fifty songs. Yesterday, as I was driving to JoAnn's, I heard Joan Jett and the Blackhearts "I Love Rock and Roll," followed up by Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight." (I turned the radio down – I freaking hate Phil Collins.) This morning, as I drove Christina to work, they played "I Love Rock and Roll" followed by – you guessed it – "In the Air Tonight." Arrgh. It's time to buy a CD player for the car. Or start listening to talk radio.
