St. Petersburg institutions dying right and left
OK, maybe not dying, but certainly undergoing changes. As this article in the St. Pete Times details, the Harp & Thistle pub closes its doors tonight. Christina and I went down this afternoon with Scott in tow to down a last pint in the pub's honor. What will become of the building? Rumor has it that the folks who own Woody's across the street bought it without purchasing the business entity or inventory. The "new" Harp will probably open in early 2003 in a new location with the help of the original owners. But today was the last day to go hoist one at the closest thing the beach has to an Irish (or British, for that matter) pub. I got pictures, but they were on a disposable film camera, not the digital, so you're just going to have to wait. Check out the official web site if you want to see it in its glory.
