Remember when I said I'd be happy if we ever broke the one million mark on the Amazon sales rankings? It looks like I don't understand the ranking system all that well. We're currently at rank 91,453. Not too shabby. (By the time you read this, it may have slumped back down again. I'm not sure how this stuff works.)
We're selling far more books through Amazon than through our own site – only one book has gone out direct since the book was put up for sale to the public about two weeks ago, and Amazon has ordered 9 books from us so far (I'm not sure what that says about their actual sell-through, but I'm just happy to see the books go). Of course, we don't make nearly as much money on the books sold through Amazon, but any book sold is a good thing at this point.
The preparations for Dragon*Con continue; we signed a bunch of books over the weekend and xeroxed a boatload of flyers. Since there won't be a reading/signing, our focus has definitely shifted to promotion. That's OK, though, since it means we'll be taking fewer boxes of books with us, and there will be room for Scott in the back seat.
