Hot dogs and huli wings
Yes, it's going to be relatively simple fare at this year's July 4th gathering. Even the gathering is scaled down; I've invited only a few people to keep things comfortable. Tonight I quest for a new grill; the old one has a few years on it now and has rust in a few places it oughtn't. These are the hazards of Florida.
Scott and I are waiting to hear back from the Dragon*Con people on whether they want our company as panelists this year; otherwise we're left hawking books from a box. Still, there are a lot of neat people booked as guests this year, so it will be fun to drop copies of the book in the laps of some of the people who are mentioned in it.
I had a good conversation this morning with the director of film programming at a local movie venue. I don't want to jinx things by saying too much, but suffice it to say the book interests the venue's management and they were impressed with the professionalism of our press kit. Score one for the killer press kit. I worked my ass off on that thing.
