Many thanks to those of you who rang in on the book distribution question. That "pointing to your book (or your brother's book) at the bookstore" coolness factor is indeed a powerful brew. Lord knows I would go hang out in the quilting section of Barnes and Noble, just to see my name in the bookstore in the Quilter's Computer Companion. You know, I don't have a copy of that book. I won't get one soon, either: now they sell at Amazon for nearly $60! No-Starch really needs to do another printing. Or someone needs to publish another book for quilters with computers. Hmmm....
Currently reading: My First Year in Book Publishing - Slightly more interesting than yet another book on book marketing.
Also reading: No Blade of Grass - Picked this up at Haslam's on my lunch hour the other day. Some of the most horrifyingly plausible science fiction I've read in years. I'm astonished that it's out of print, but John Christopher's work has always been underrated.
(Oh cool! I just looked a little bit more at the Haslam's web site – they even have a level for Doom! You can blow away bad guys inside my favorite bookstore! I also like their travel directions. "If you are traveling on US 19, pray.")
