Today was a pretty rotten day. Stupidity reigns in the workplace, and I was there until 9 p.m. There were some PHB (e-mail me to decode) antics today that I won't go into, especially in a public blog, but let's just say that the USGS is a somewhat less friendly place to work at the moment. I'm hoping that when the current budget crisis eases up, certain tensions will evaporate as well.
Maybe it's not just my workplace; everyone I talk to, in and out of town, seems stressed out. Amy is in a funk. I kind of imagine her playing Pac-Man in the dark with the door locked. Chris M is having nightmares. Christina is wrapped up in PhD madness, wondering if she'll ever be allowed to leave USF. About the only people I know having a good time right now are my siblings: Nicholas on Spring Break, Benjamin and Pamela winning scholarships, Geoffrey (hopefully) enjoying his newlywed status and new digs.
Watching: Not a damn thing. I don't have time for TV or movies right now.
Running mercilessly through my head: The Frantics' "Boot to the Head." I have learned the lesson of Ed Gruberman.
Happy Birthday to Christina's dad John.
