Mommy was in Perry, Georgia, last night on business, returning this afternoon, so the cats and I held down the fort. I was delayed getting home by a traffic jam on Scott Blvd. There was a traffic helicopter hovering over Westchester School, and later it turned out there was a natural gas leak. Maybe some disgruntled parent was trying to blow up the school system's new offices.
Last Thursday and Friday and Saturday, we went to all ten quilt shops in this year's Atlanta shop hop, finishing up in Gainesville, where we stayed overnight at the Dunlap House B&B and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Rudolph's on Green Street.
Pamela has signed a lease on a two-bedroom apartment near campus with her friend Meghan (Megan?) for next year's housing. In order to lock it up, they had to take it effective June 1, so there will be "free" quarters in New Orleans through the summer. For those who would like to visit, any and all contributions toward rent will be welcome. Perhaps we should have a family reunion there in July.
Both Pamela and Benjamin blew through here over the weekend on their travels, and Benjamin and Ginger will be in next weekend for his fraternity informal, which is in Atlanta. Both of them will also be home for Easter.
Mommy will again be out of town Thursday night, at Brasstown Bald for a meeting. Next week we're going to Texas for a long weekend to visit G&G. It will be SAT/Hill Country Shop Hop, and we'll be spending one night with them in a boutique hotel in Austin. This was substituted for our original B&B, which was sold after we reserved a room there. Anyone want a Final Four t-shirt with four unknown basketball teams' names on it? Georgia Tech vs. UAB?
