For those who haven't been home to see it, here are a couple of shots of the exterior of the addition. We put in the new stone and marble chip walkway last weekend, and planted the garden under the deck.
When sitting out on the deck, it's like you're up in the trees. We eat out there almost every evening now.
We have a new attraction at the homestead, a Father's Day gift of a "Big Green Egg" smoker, which we purchased at the mother store at Buford Highway and Clairmont. This wonderful gift came with an unexpected bonus, a barbecue chef!
Geoffrey so far has cooked a beef brisket and yesterday's delectation, a home-smoked pork butt, which is very much preferable to the frozen ones I've been buying at the federal building.
The other side benefit of the all-day smoker events is that our new "ballroom" furniture is being enjoyed.
Benjamin and Geoffrey and I also laid out a new pathway under the deck in the back, which eliminates the big mud hole that was previously there. Unexpected perks when you're a barbecue chef.
