We may have mentioned that we've spent the last three weekends in a row cleaning up, throwing out, and organizing the basement. Included in this process was moving everything in it around so that we could put a coat of epoxy paint on the floor. We became familiar with this product when Mike did our laundry room with it, and decided it was just the thing for the entire basement. Here are the results:
This is what the paint looks like up close. Everybody involved enjoyed sprinkling the little paint chips on the wet base for decoration.
We still have a ways to go in getting rid of junk, but this is probably the best the basement has ever looked. With the new drainage system, it also stays much drier in the rain. Haven't had any water down there at all, as a matter of fact.
