Old Man of the Mountain No More
As a native of New Hampshire, I was distressed to learn today of the demise of the State's most famous natural landmark, the "Old Man of the Mountain," in the White Mountains not far from where I was born in North Conway. The dear old fellow apparently succumbed to frostbite, having ignored his mother's warnings to come in out of the cold.

In a particularly contemporary twist, bits of rock from his nose and chin have now begun to turn up on eBay.
