Outdoor Checkerboard

We're going to do something similar to the above in the area beneath the deck out back, where there is no slab. This design came from the Atlanta Flower Show. The green is Mondo grass (Mommy's favorite!) Now all we have to find is a cheap source of Mondo grass and some strong backs to tote the concrete stepping stones. Any volunteers? Amy?

Whaddayathink?

Some of the quilt stores in the shop hop in Texas took their chosen themes very seriously, like this clerk at Creations in Kerrville. Elvis was also sighted.

Jennifer and Geoffrey are cooking Easter dinner here in the new kitchen, with Amy and Tanya and Margaret Dickerson all invited. Margaret is on a walker now, since she broke her hip last December.

We're still on the hunt for furniture for the ballroom and an appropriate island for the kitchen. And are enjoying our new deck, in spite of the carpenter bees who seem determined to turn it into swiss cheese.

Well, I guess it is time for a little New Orleans update. I have been to a couple formals the past two weekends and just been going to class and trying to finish up the semester with a good GPA. Also I have been going to Tulane's baseball games, since they are free and usually on campus. We beat LSU, which is always a good thing and having an okay season otherwise, as far as I know--I am not too on top of those things. Anyway, I am sure everyone is curious about the new male influence in my life, so I thought I should put up a picture and fill everyone in on the details. This is the two of us at Zeta Psi Formal. Not the best picture of either of us, but oh well.

His name is Mark and he is from Denver. He has one older brother who is a junior at Northwestern and his mom lives in Englewood, CO. He is a little over 6 feet tall and his favorite team is the Red Sox. That's enough random information for now I guess. Comments are welcome...
