Well, in response to daddy's post I would say everyone seems to have their eyes peeled for the latest big storm, as shown by this sign:
For a very interesting feature on what would happen if a big hurricane hit New Orleans, NPR has a really good piece: http://americanradioworks.org/features/wetlands/hurricane1.html
Wes is rehydrated but not eating on his own recognizance. We're going to bring him home and syringe baby food type cat food in him all weekend while we await the rest of his lab results. So far there are no smoking guns in the lab results. The base thyroid reading is normal. We'll just have to regroup next week and see what further needs to be done. Meanwhile we'll discuss what's going to happen this weekend with regard to Rock Hill and let you all know. Sorry for the indecision.
Some of you know King Cat Wesley has been sick the last few days. Here's the report, which Toey requested I post here. After several days of not eating and vomiting, we took Wes to the vet yesterday and left him all day. They found he'd lost weight and was dehydrated, and given the thyroid problems they diagnosed earlier this summer they thought he might still have problem (need more medication) or be having a reaction to the medication which was making him nauseous. We left him in the vet overnight so they could continue pumping fluids into him and try to get him to eat some kitty gruel from a syringe. They hope to have some additional blood work back by about 10 this morning which may tell us what we need to know. They haven't ruled out other possible causes, but this appears the most likely.
We'll probably pick Wes up this afternoon and bring him home, but he'll need attention over the weekend so we won't both be going to Rock Hill. We're thinking about Mommy driving up by herself with the stuff she wants to deliver to Benjamin while I stay home with the cat and the job of clearing out the basement. But nothing has been decided for certain. We'll let you know what's going on later today or this evening. Wesley may eventually need a surgical/radioactive treatment for his thyroid which would be a permanent fix. Only trouble is it's expensive -- about $1,000.
They're starting the clearing for the addition today. Should be fun going home this evening. We'll post some pictures.

Happy Birthday, Christopher
Just want to formally recognize the 30th birthday of the oldest son and only published book author in the Holland family. We often said "when Pamela goes to college, Toey will be 30" and didn't really believe that day would come. Well here it is. Congratulations, Toey.
