Well, I registered for classes at Tulane online yesterday, and it looks like I've already changed my major (for the first of several times, probably), to philosophy with a concentration in law (Nicholas, do you have any advice or words of wisdom about phil vs poli sci?) I'm taking Ethics, intro to philosophy, Italian, printmaking, and elementary symbolic logic. This last one is a philosophy class to fulfill the mathematics proficiency requirement--I figure it's got to be better than real math. Lucky for me, Tulane requires only three math/science credits (besides the proficiency) for the BA, and I've already got credit for two semesters of chem, so I only have to take one math or science. I love college already :) Also, I've talked to my roommate, who is from Turtle Lake, ND, population 681. She was valedictorian of a graduating class of 17, and the nearest movie theater is 45 minutes away and only open on weekends. So I guess I don't have to tell you why she wants to go to Tulane.Move-in at Tulane is Aug 24, if anyone wants to come down and meet my new mommy--girls in the Newcomb College can sign up for a "Town Mom" who graduated from Newcomb and lives in New Orleans (and hopefully has a lot of money that she wants to spend on an 18 year old girl ;-) Otherwise, I'm just working at the pool, everyday of the week this month except for Mondays (the club's closed) and a four day vacation in St Pete/Orlando with Toey and Christina. That's it for now.

From the grandparents, as of 7/6:
Toey, thanks for caring. We've done OK with only minor roof leaks that slightly stained a couple ceilings with only a couple drops of water dripping beneath. Our campus is atop a sizable hill, safe from general flooding short of the need for Ark II. Local drainage problems that caused flooding in our villa in 1998 have been cured (knock on wood) by grading alterations involving French drains, berms etc. We've been able travel freely around town, just being careful of danger areas which are well publicized by the media. We enjoyed your and Scott's quote from the St. Pete Times. Thanks for sending same. Love, G & G
