Daddy and I are home alone tonight--Mommy's in Augusta (or Disgusta, as she fondly refers to it) on some conference thingy or another. We have decided to branch out tonight--we're going out for chicken and waffles (recommended highly in Amy's most recent post) and then we're settling in to watch Frontier House (a show Toey came to appreciate through the combination of a sick Christina and the sacred Tivo). Then, I'll probably watch the Osbournes--I've been missing it recently, but I heard their security guard was arrested for robbing their neighbor's house. How very secure.
I just finished up lifeguard training this weekend and I guess I'm better for it (excluding the sunburn). They make you retake the whole course now--none of the "challenge" stuff they used to do. They also increased the total number of laps you have to swim and the distance you have to carry the brick. But it's not that hard--I mean, I passed, right? School is pretty much a joke now--I have no homework whatsoever, no motivation whatsoever, and the 100 I got on my last speech and forensics test actually lowers my average. You gotta love that high school grading scale. On the brighter side of school issues, my extra-mile award nominee, Mr. Winterscheidt, won and he seems pretty happy. I'm trying to see if I can somehow get a couple extra free tickets to the banquet because they've gone up to $25 a piece and M and D want to go (technically, I should get one for National Merit crap and a Statistics award, but that kind of logic doesn't seem to fly). Personally, I 'd be happy if I never saw the inside of that Holiday Inn again.
Anyway, the house is pretty quiet right now--maybe resting up for this weekend. It's looking like we'll have a lot going on--even Sherri Brown will be here Friday. Oh, and Nicholas--I've decided you need to come home. Simon and I are making everyone a fancy lunch on Sunday for Mommy's Day and everyone will be there except for you. Don't you love your mother?
