Here's the web version of the Geoffrey/Jennifer wedding video. Keep in mind that this is a highly compressed file and the original looks much better. The movie is about 9 megabytes, 8 minutes long, and requires Quicktime 4 to play.
If you'd like the high-quality version on VHS tape, please let me know and I'll get one out to you in the next week or two. Obviously, I'll be sending one to Holland Headquarters as soon as I can get it dubbed and in the mail.
Enjoy. And thanks to everyone who contributed photos and video footage, especially Daddy, whose pictures of Jennifer's relatives kept this from being the all-Holland variety hour. Also a shout out to Sarah, who made sure that someone sent a special message to the newlyweds.

We had a pleasant dinner this evening at the Red Sevilla restaurant in Lexington. Mommy wanted to do Alfalfa, but the group decided to take a flyer, and as it turned out it was a very nice experience. The food didn't appear to be very heart- or vegetarian-friendly, but we found acceptable choices and it was superbly prepared. The house white wine had a slight eau de diesel fuel, but it had alcohol in it, so we had two glasses each. The waiter, who appeared to be the owner, perhaps without wait-staff, was so solicitous and "sweet" (Mommy's word) that he charmed us past any shortcomings in his lack of knowledge of his own menu, much less English. The soup of the day was some sort of potato, which appealed, but the closest they could get was black bean (all right, WHITE bean). Anyway, we had a nice time with Sarah and a delicious meal.
Earlier, Pamela and Mommy went to the new Meijer store here, and suckered in for a personal demo of a set of knives. They felt so sorry for the inept salesperson that they bought a starter set. It was mostly a cultural phenomenon -- the persistence, through all of the media static, of the personal sales pitch. It's a real anachronism.
Oh, Jeez. No Law and Order, because there's the Olympics. They've got some nerve.

Welcome to the blog, Benjamin.
This is being sent from a hotel room in Lexington, where we are staying before returning to Atlanta tomorrow after Pamela's Willie T. interview at Transylvania. She has had a good time the last couple of days, I think, though I think her preference remains Tulane for the moment. Transy hasn't made its offer yet anyway, and I think it's a little irritating to her that they put her through these additional hoops when she already knows she has a ticket to New Orleans. She did enjoy her attendance in a couple of classes, including one of Dr. Dugi's today, and Mr. Cody's former roommate, Dr. Fossl (or however it's spelled) was on the committee that interviewed her. They talked about Larry, I guess for lack of anything better. They did tell her how refreshing it was to read an essay that wasn't about how "Governor's Honors" (or whatever it's called in Kentucky) was a life-changing experience. She wrote about her pyromania (in making the glass beads). Her opening line was "I like to play with fire."
We're leaving in a few minutes to take Sarah out to dinner this evening. We haven't decided where, yet. Sarah says we'll drive around until we find something that appeals. Yay. Better decided quick, Sarah, or we'll do McDonald's.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. Not much going on here except for school and the like. I have a lot of fraternity stuff going on, and the added responsibility of a little brother this semester. His name is Marshall and he seems like someone I will get along with. It was good to see everyone at the wedding, and I know it is not (as the infamous phase goes) "the last time we will all be together." Well that is all for now, but I will remain active on the board.

We're headed off to Lexington about lunchtime, and will be back late Saturday afternoon. You can reach us on the cells, or by e-mail, as we will have a laptop with us. Jennifer and Geoffrey are holding down the fort, and feeding cats.

Had another interview today with a Charlotte firm, I've decided that the best way to handle these things is to talk as little about the law and law school as possible because it's boring. Instead I spent most of the interview talking about Kentucky basketball. That went over well with the guy, who apparently goes to Vegas every year for the first week of the NCAA tournament.
Still no word from any other firms, maybe today or tomorrow. Hopefully soon, I'd like to get these interviews over with.
I hope the parents and Pamela have a good time at Transylvania University. Be sure to visit the monstrosity that is the new Beck athletic center. With two basketball courts and a ridiculous weight room, I'm sure I never would have spent any time there even if it had been built. As they say at Keeneland "Go baby go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

When do Geoffrey and Jennifer get back? We're looking forward to a honeymoon report, and maybe some photos from the digital camera that went with them. While they were gone we became a blogging family, and we want our instant gratification!
Moe: Oh, boy! The deep fryer's here. Heh heh, I got it used from the navy. You can flash-fry a buffalo in forty seconds!
